The Motherhood Project: Sarah

“Sometimes for no reason at all she’ll randomly come up and hug me and say “You’re the best mommy” melts my heart like a popsicle every time.”

Name: Sarah | Childs Name: Harper, 3

Did you enjoy your pregnancy?: Yes to a certain point lol. The last few months that I had being pregnant with her I loved so much. I was last into my pregnancy at 5 months 22 weeks when I found out I was pregnant. But it was durning the summer so that part was hard for me.

How was your delivery experience?: I was scared out of my mind but excited at once. It was a great delivery but super long labor. I was in labor for 24 hours staring from the morning of the day before I had her when my doctor at my appointment accidentally started it when she checked me. She was born the next morning at 10:58am :). I got scared though they didn’t let me hold her or see her right as she came out they said that she wasn’t breathing the right way so they had to take her. I tore really bad so they had to fix me up first before I could see her. We didn’t get to see one another for a long time till she finally started breathing on her own. It’s a hard moment for a mother when you have to see your baby for the first time with tubes all over them. But she’s super well and healthy now :).

What’s your biggest struggle when it comes to being a mom?: Being both mom and dad with being a single parent.

What’s your biggest strength when it comes to being a mom?: Having such unconditional love for someone that I never truly knew I could have.

What is your parenting style?: I’ve always wanted to be that fun mom lol but also letting her know that I am her mom/the boss not just her friend.

What is your favorite part of the day with your child?: Sometimes for no reason at all she’ll randomly come up and hug me and say “You’re the best mommy” melts my heart like a popsicle every time.

Who is an inspiration to you when it comes to motherhood?: My mother, she has always been there for me through so much and I couldn’t love her even more for that. She’s a strong women and a single mother as well of 4 daughters. I have no clue where I would be in life without her by my side.

Advice for fellow mothers who need a little boost?: Don’t tear yourself down even when days get hard and you want to give up keep pushing yourself to the fullest.

Where is your favorite place to shop for yourself? Favorite place to shop for your child/children?: For both of us Target or Wal-Mart

What’s one product for yourself you can’t live without? Favorite product for your child?: For me lip gloss lol. For Harper, her binkie (still trying to get her off it).

How has being a mom changed your life?: It’s changed in more ways than I’ll even know. Pushing myself to my limits everyday. Wanting to be a better me and person for her for what she deserves more than anything.
