Favorite Fall/Winter Lip Colors

I’ve seen a few other blogs talk about their current favorite lip colors and I love that, so I’m jumping on the bandwagon with my current favorite lip colors that I’m wearing a lot in the Fall and Winter months. I was able to narrow it down to eight colors and all but one are drugstore (i was pretty excited about that).

You’ll have to forgive that there are no lip swatches. I’m going through a bit of a skin-journey, as I’m calling it haha and my face is just in no place to be photographed that closely.

All these colors, except #6 are very pigmented (6 is a little more sheer) and are long lasting and don’t smudge or transfer. I am picky with lipstick and flat out refuse to wear color on my lips if its going to come off when I kiss my boys. I’m so excited to be sharing these because not only are they high quality and easy to work with, they have awesome price tags! They also all come with doe foot applicators (again, except #6) because I much more prefer applying lip color with an applicator than with the actual stick of lipstick – its just easier to me!!

2. Wet n Wild Liquid Catsuit in Berry Recognize

3. Wet n Wild Liquid Catsuit in Rebel Rose

4. Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink in Lover

5. Wet n Wild Liquid Catsuit in Nudie Patootie

6. Revlon Color Stay in Supermodel

7. Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Perla

8. Wet n Wild Liquid Catsuit in Missy and Fierce

If you try any of these, let me know how you like them! If you have any other awesome suggestions for me, let me know! I’m all ears!

My Simple, Inexpensive Make Up Routine

Makeup is usually quite an ordeal for me. If I’m going to wear it, I’m going to put quite a bit on, spend lots of time on it and get really picky with how things look. Thats why the current me is so foreign. Lately I’m very, very low maintenance with my makeup and I honestly can’t think of the last time I’ve really felt this way. Whats funniest to me is that when I wear this simple face, I tend to get a lot of compliments on my makeup or questions about what I use. So, for any of you who may have wondered, or who are just curious about what makeup I’m currently using (bonus: most of it is drugstore right now!), then this post is for you.

I start after washing my face and putting on a moisturizer with SPF in it. Then I begin.

I start with a primer almost always. I typically go between my Smashbox Photo Finish Primer or my NYX Photo-Loving Primer.

Then I put on some BB Cream. Not even foundation. This one from Rimmel has been my go-to BB Cream for years now. This is the Rimmel London 9-in-1 Skin Perfecting Super Makeup BB Cream in Matte.

Then I’ll conceal. I always put concealer under my eyes. Sometimes I put a little around my nose, on the high points of my cheeks and wherever I have blemishes. I love the Tarte Shape Tape (who doesn’t) and my drugstore favorite is the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser.

If I decide to set my face (i always set under my eyes), right now I’m reaching for the Maybelline Fit Me! Loose Finishing Powder. This stuff works amazingly well and doesn’t get cakey as easily as some other powders do.

Then I bronze and apply blush. I’m always using the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer in Light Bronzer, and I’m obsessed with the Physicians Formula Butter Blush in Plum Rose. I have been wearing these two exclusively for weeks now.

For brows I usually almost always use Anastasia products, but I’ve been semi-recently introduced to this brow pencil and I don’t hate it. This is the Loreal Brow Stylist Shape & Fill pencil. Its tip isn’t as precise as I usually like, but its easy to work with and goes on really well and stays all day.

Then I do eyeliner and mascara. I love the Physicians Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 Eyeliner + Serum. Does the serum part work? No idea. But the liner works and it stays all day and is totally smudge proof. Its easy to use and you can do a lot of looks with it with ease. For mascara, I’m hooked on Loreal Voluminous Lash Paradise. Its incredible, simple as that.

Then I finish it all off with some setting spray. I use the Make It Last spray from Milani right now and I have no complaints.

There you have it! Simple, sweet and inexpensive.

January Favorites/Beauty Talk

I kind of fell off of the monthly favorites and beauty talk train there for a while, but I’m back and excited and hope I can at least do a few months in a row! Also maybe this will finally be the year I make a video of my favorites instead of a blog post. Time will tell.

Dr. Brandt Luminizer Primer. This primer is so nice! It feels so good on my skin and gives my foundation a pretty little glow. Its expensive and I’m still deciding if its worth the price, but since I have it – I do like it! Will I repurchase? Not sure. I feel like for now this will be the primer I save for special occasions. IMG_4445

Tarte Tarteist Mascara. I didn’t have high hopes for this mascara, but I should have because its great. It isn’t as much voluminous as it is lengthening so I wear it when I’m doing more of a natural look and want long pretty lashes. I definitely recommend this.IMG_4446

Big Sexy Hair, Push Up. When I’m pregnant my hair gets a lot thicker (and so far has stayed that way!) and with my last pregnancy it also got really, really silky. It feels amazing, but it has no texture or hold to it at all. A friend recommended this and its saved me. It puts texture in my hair and now it will finally hold a hairstyle! IMG_4447

Real Techniques brush in 300. Ok, I admit. I bought this brush because of the pretty handle. But its actually a really good brush! I typically have great luck with Real Technique brushes and this one is no different. I’ve tried using it for a few different purposes and my favorite is when I apply my all-over powder. Its soft, pretty and does the job.IMG_4448

Too Faced Best Year Ever Shadow Palette. My sister gave me this for my birthday in December and I haven’t stopped using it. Look at all those pretty colors! There are mattes and shimmers and they all have great color payoff and the packaging is adorable. My favorite shades are Secret Santa (fun transition color), Workshop, Dollhouse and Elfie Selfie. IMG_4449

Physicians Formula Blush in Plum Rose. Have you smelled these? The smell alone is a big selling point to me. I’ve had this blush for quite a while but haven’t used it much because it looks like a really light bronzer to me. The other day I tried it out again and now I’m mad at myself for avoiding it so long. Its not bronze at all. Its really pretty dark rose color thats so flattering. I love this. IMG_4450

Pur Bronze and Brighten Palette. I’m not so much a fan of this bronzer. Its pretty, but its far too shimmery/sparkly for my liking – especially for a bronzer. The bronze color does make a pretty eyeshadow color though! The blush and highlight though… oh my gosh. Super pigmented and creamy and BEAUTIFUL. IMG_4454

Wet’n’Wild Liquid Catsuit in Rebel Rose. I wanted to try some cheap lipsticks that claim to be long wearing. I found a winner. There are a lot of different colors but this one is definitely my favorite I’ve tried. IMG_4455

Bed Head Small Talk. Again, wanting more texture and wanting to add a little somethin’-somethin’ to my hair I tried this and I LOVE IT. It also smells incredible. I apply two pumps into my wet, clean hair and it works wonders. It has many claims and I really feel like it holds up to all of them!! IMG_4456

What were your favorite things/products this month? What do I need to try in February?

No7 Stay Perfect Foundation Review

You guys make me feel all cool and fancy when you ask for my opinions and reviews on things. Lately I have had a few different clients, friends, etc ask what I think about the brand No7. Admittedly, I haven’t tried much from this brand but I’ve never heard really negative reviews about them but apparently there have been a lot of mixed reviews around the internet about their Stay Perfect foundation. I feel bad when people ask me for reviews and I’m not able to give them my own personal opinions about a product. So I bought the No7 Stay Perfect foundation (in Cool Vanilla) and now I have my first impression reviews for those of you who’ve asked.

Unknown

Let me start with saying this: I wish they had more of a color selection. I am very pale and feel like even their lightest shade wasn’t quite light enough for me.

Putting it on/first couple minutes of wearing:

  • It claims to be medium coverage and I totally agree with that. It wasn’t super sheer, but it also didn’t give me the cake-face effect. I have some pigmentation under my eyes from this pregnancy that I hoped it’d cover (i didn’t use any concealer during this test) and unfortunately it didn’t – but it did lighten it quite a bit.
  • It applies easily and evenly. I needed to use more that I thought I would though. To get the coverage I was happy with I had to use 3.5-4 pumps. I applied it with my beauty sponge and it gave me no trouble.
  • Its buildable. The coverage gets more heavy duty the more you put on.
  • This product needs to be set with a powder. Its a very shiny, dewy, sticky foundation. Shiny and dewy is fine – sticky…not so much. I felt like if anything touched my face my foundation would come off. Once I put a setting powder over top it cleared that problem up and no longer felt sticky.
  • Its lightweight. I don’t feel like I’m wearing tons of makeup on my face.
  • It oxidizes. Ugh. This just means that once its out and on your skin the shade gets darker. My face looked more tan than the rest of my body all day. Not a ton, but enough for me to notice. Luckily I was able to hide most of that with other make ups on top of it.
  • It applies nicely over a primer and other products apply nicely on top of it.

After several hours of wearing:

  • The pigmentation under my eyes started to peek through the foundation a little more than when I first put the product on. The foundation on my chin also started to wear off a little – which is common for pretty much every foundation I try.
  • I took a 20 minute nap and was pleased to find that it stayed on well and didn’t wear off where my face was on the couch.
  • I didn’t find it to settle in to my creases and wrinkles anywhere – always a bonus!

At the end of the day:

  • It didn’t sheer out anymore than it did in the middle of the day – I was very happy about this.
  • It didn’t settle into any lines on my face.
  • It hadn’t transferred onto any clothing even after changing my clothes twice during the day.
  • It removed very easily at the end of the day when I took it off.

So…the No7 Stay Perfect Foundation. Do I recommend it? I do! (and I didn’t think that I would to be honest) At $15.99 I think its a good price for the quality of the product. I absolutely recommend that you make sure you set it with powder, otherwise it may be a whole different situation. I liked the medium coverage, I liked that it wasn’t heavy on my face, I liked that it didn’t transfer. I didn’t love the oxidizing but I figured out how to work with it and I didn’t like how sticky it felt initially (before i set it down).

If you’re on the market for an affordable, dewy foundation – this one would be worth a try in my opinion.

*Sorry there were no pictures of my face in this post. Mom brain + pregnancy brain… If you hurry you may still have time to catch my live review of the product on my Snapchat at ceeceesparkles though!

July Beauty Talk

How long has it been since I’ve done one of these? I sort of forgot all about them, I guess. But in an attempt to keep up with my semi-frequent posting, I wanted to start my monthly Beauty Talk back up. I haven’t really discovered that much new and exciting lately unfortunately. I have definitely found a couple things that I’m hooked on – but nothing life changing. So if you have something in mind that I need to try please tell me about it. I’ve been in a bit of a beauty rut. I guess I’ve reached the point in my pregnancy where I’m just starting to feel like even when I’m dressed, have a face of make up and my hair done I still am just a little blah. I need to get my lash extensions back on. I swear those make all the difference in times like these. Anyway, lets get started.

JULY BEAUTY TALK

Tarte Shape Tape: Me and everyone else love this, right? I have heard like two bad reviews and a million good ones about this product. So naturally I had to get it. This pregnancy I am getting a lot of pigmentation under my eyes (chloasma – pregnancy mask) and this is the only concealer I can really count on to hide the color. Its thick, self-sets and is easy to work with. IMG_6910

Voluminous Lash Paradise by LOreal: Not only is the packaging really pretty, it makes your lashes look really pretty! I was so impressed with this stuff even by my first use! A lot of times I like mascara when its a little older, but I’ve loved this every time I’ve used it. Its lengthening, thickening and only takes a couple coats to get a pretty dramatic look! Its long lasting (i’ve even warn it in the pool a few times with no disastrous results) and the brush is fat and easy to use. And I think it was just $10? Totally recommend. IMG_6911
Blush Serum by Beautaniq Beauty: I hated this the first time I used it but my sister convinced me to give it a few more tries. This is basically a cream blush. A little goes a long way so its a fine line between a nice, soft pink and going full blown Barbie pink, but when applied just right, I really love it and it sticks to your face forever! IMG_6915

ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in Weenie: I tend to be more minimal with my makeup in Summer. So right now if I wear eyeshadow its something simple and usually use one color. My go-to lately has been Weenie. Its a shimmery copper/pink/brown and it really compliments my green eyes, stays well and I can apply it in a matter of seconds. (have any of you tried ColourPops new concealers? I’m looking forward to getting my hands on those to try out!) IMG_6917

Sonia Kashuk Brushes: I was wandering the aisles of Target and found this set of 10 brushes for way cheap so naturally I had to buy them. I actually assumed it’d be a purchase I later regretted because I haven’t always heard the best things about this brands brushes, but I guess I am in the minority because I have really loved them thus far! And how cute are they?? IMG_6914

Coconut Milk Cream to Foam Face Wash by Pacifica: This was another random purchase because I’m a sucker for pretty packaging. I haven’t used this cleanser long enough to tell you that it will solve all your skin problems, but I can tell you that it smells like heaven and leaves your face feeling squeaky clean and super soft. IMG_6912

Dr Teal’s Pure Epsom Salt with Milk and Honey: Pregnancy staple right here. I’m a bath-addict and baths get 100 times better with this stuff. I really do believe that it helps relax your aching body all while leaving your skin softer and more moisturized. This is a huge bag and its only $5! IMG_6909

Mickey Mouse Necklace: For Mothers Day my boys got me this necklace and I’m in love. You know I’m all about representing the Disney brand everywhere I go and this is another fun way to do so. IMG_6916

Disneyland T-Shirt: Gotta love a picture of an ever growing belly in a tight t-shirt, huh? On our last trip to Disneyland, Wild Man and I spotted this shirt and both LOVED it. We both got one and later my family got H one in red. Its the best and I love the vintage look to it. I’m really bummed that its not going to fit me much longer so I’m wearing it lots while I still can! (then i’ll just start wearing Wild Man’s…)  IMG_6913

February Beauty Talk

I don’t like the name Beauty Talk anymore. I should have just been boring and named it Favorites or something. Because its not all beauty related I have realized. But oh well. Here are my February Favorites/Beauty Talk. Thank goodness I found a lot of great things this month because this has not been my month so I’m happy I was at least able to discover some new goodies and rediscover some old gems.

Evian Natural Mineral Water. This stuff is awesome. Its not a setting spray, its just… water with minerals. I am a very, very dry person so I love using this to give my skin a little moisture. Its light and dries quickly. I usually use it after I wash and exfoliate my face, before I put my moisturizer on. And I go crazy with it at night before I go to bed. I’ve totally noticed my skin is less dry too and I give this so much of the credit.

img_4352

Aveeno Absolutely Ageless cleanser. I am not opposed to spending a pretty penny on skin care. I take my skin care seriously and I usually steer away from drug store brands. However I kept reading amazing reviews about this stuff so I decided to give it a shot and I am shocked to say I’m obsessed. This is so gentle and smells incredible. It gets sudsy and just makes your face feel clean and fresh. I never thought I’d recommend something like this, but I do now!

img_4353

Morphe Concealer. Ok. I’m torn on this. The first time I used this I used it under my eye and that got a big NOPE from me. It creased so bad, even when I set my under eyes. It was just bad, looked cakey and horrible, but I was determined to love it somehow. So I started using it over blemishes and as a sort of a highlight and like it much better. I definitely think its a thick, thick product so it needs to be applied very light handed and blended out really well. I don’t love it but I don’t hate it anymore. But would I recommend you buy this? No, probably not.

img_4354

Thickity Thick Mascara by Bliss. I got this off of Amazon after hearing it helps your lashes lengthen and look fuller. Isn’t that the goal? The first several uses were underwhelming (but I tend to like mascara after its a little older/more used anyway) but now I really like it! Its super easy to build too. If you want a more natural look, one coat will do but if you want a more dramatic look, you put a few more coats on and BAM.

img_4355

Morphe 12NB Palette. Loooooooooooooove. I am a die hard fan of Morphe’s eye shadows. They are powdery, sort and have some fall out, but once you figure out how to manipulate them just so, they are awesome. These blend so well and they’re the prettiest colors. I am thinking this will be a great palette to take next time we travel. It has all the colors I’d need to do a different eye look every day and still feel like I’m mixing things up.

img_4356

ColourPop Super Shock shadow in Summer Lovin. Oh I love this stuff. I use this product as a pop of high intensity shimmer on my eyelids when I’m going for that dramatic, glam look. I’m never disappointed. It blends well, applies well and doesn’t move all day.

img_4358

Maybelline Fit Me! Foundation Stick. I have been actually hating foundations, lately. Every single one I try just doesn’t go on well and its really annoying. So I decided I had nothing to lose and started dabbling in drugstore stick foundations. I have some more in the mail right now but I have been working with this one lately. Its definitely not full coverage, but its nice and blends with a foundation brush really nicely (I had bad luck using a beauty blender) I am excited to try the other stick foundations though. Someday I’ll find a foundation that loves me.

img_4360

Elf Highlighters. The pinker one is called Pink Diamonds and the golden one is called Moonlight Pearls. I am so impressed with these! If you’re going to use them I suggest dusting off the top layer first because for some reason the top layer just doesn’t work the same? But these are really nice, natural highlights that can be built up if needed.

img_4365

Cool Makeup Setting Spray. This stuff is so refreshing and smells yummy. Does it actually make my make up stay on longer? I’m not sure. But it helps add moisture to my face, helps my make up look a little more natural and feels so good! I don’t love the way it sprays though..

img_4361

Light Board. I love my light board and I’m particularly proud of the way its looked for the last week. I think I’m funny sometimes.

img_4362

Spireside candle in Main Street Bakery. I’m 99% sure I’ve talked about this candle before, but thats how good it is. This company used to be called Anthology Candles and has since changed their name. This is the yummiest smelling candle I’ve ever owned. And its inspired by Disney!

img_4363

Heart Dish. I got this small heart dish from Target for like $3 and I’m obsessed. It was a Valentine’s Day decoration originally but I think its going to stay on the decorative tray I keep on my dining room table far after February is over. I love it too much to part ways with it just yet.

January Beauty Talk

What do you think about doing my Beauty Talk but in video form? I’ve dabbled with the idea of doing a YouTube video for my monthly Beauty Talk just because when it comes to skin care and make up and such I have a lot to say and its obviously easier to say live as opposed to typing out a review. Its just a thought. Will February’s Beauty Talk be a video or a blog post? Only time will tell.

I’m starting this post off with these Minnie Bow earrings that are my new favorites. I always have Disney earrings in and more often than not they are Mickey shaped, so when I saw these I knew I had to have them because they were a little different but still obviously Disney. They are dainty and adorable and make me so excited.

img_3827

I got this shadow blending brush in my most recent Ipsy bag and I’m a huge fan. This does so good at blending shadows so there aren’t any harsh lines. I’ve been using this a lot for my crease color and its so easy to use and gets the job done.

img_3828

This is Super-Hydrating Eye Cream from Air Repair. I’m an eye cream junkie and have a lot, but I have been returning back to this one over and over again. Its light but super hydrating and I swear when I put a bunch on at night I wake up and my under eyes look better than they did the night before.

img_3824

I ordered tons of sheet masks off of Amazon a few months ago. These two brands (Dermal and The Saem) have been my favorites. Their masks target a ton of different skin concerns and they really do work! They smell really great and they are cooling and comfortable — and make for awesome selfies.

img_3832

I was ordering some products off of Ulta the other day and came across this Firming Night Cream from Burt’s Bees and figured why not give it a try? Its not the best night cream I have ever used, but I really like it. I love that its not greasy or heavy but I can tell I have something on my face. And the smell is phenomenal.

img_3833

I have been using the Cantu Leave-In Conditioning Repair Cream for a little over a year now. I use it after I wash my hair and work it into the length of my hair and it leaves my hair noticeably smoother, less tangly and shinier and just prettier.

img_3830

This blush is from Model Co. and is in the shade Peach Bellini. Its a nice peach color thats simple and easy to apply and blend. I will especially love using this in the summer.

img_3825

I am in a pickle when it comes to foundation. I can’t find any foundation I love right now so I’ve been trying a lot. A beauty YouTuber I follow really likes the Maybelline Fit Me foundation so I gave it a go. I don’t hate it you guys. It matches my skin really well and it goes on really, really nice. I hate the packaging though. You have to dump it into your hands. Ew. I much more prefer a pump. So the search for the perfect foundation continues.

img_3829

I love this Lipsense color in Beige Champagne. This is my most recent go-to. Its a neutral with a  hint of pinky/brown in it. I love it a lot.

December Beauty Talk

Yay for December Beauty Talk! You guys… I love beauty things. There were SO many I wanted to share this month but after a lot of hard work and dedication I narrowed my long list down to nine items.

First is the GlamGlow ThirstyMud Masque. Glam Glow rocks and they are pricy but I highly suggest you try one or two (or all of them?) out. This is a very hydrating masque that feels good on your skin and leaves your skin feeling like a million moisturized bucks.

img_3154

More GlamGlow! This is the exfoliating lip fizzy…something. I can’t remember the name. But its crazy. Its a rough-ish formula that exfoliates your lips – you apply it with some water and the water activates a fizz! Its the strangest, coolest feeling! Highly suggest. Also don’t look too close at the reflection of my cluttered bathroom, k?

img_3155

Next is a ColourPop Super Shock Shadow called Sequin that I’m obsessed with lately! Their formulas are crazily buttery and they go on so well. They’re easily blended and have amazing color payoff. I am particularly fond of this one because it can be an all over lid color and also goes really well with other shadows.

img_3156

This is the NYX Ombre Blush in Mauve. Mauve is my favorite blush color so I am always looking for another brands mauve colored blushes to try. This one is awesome! Its really pigmented and very bendable.

img_3157

Trates Maracuja Oil is incredible! I put this on every night on cleansed, dry skin. I don’t even know what fairy dust magic is inside of this but my face has never felt so good. Please go buy this. And the packaging makes me very happy.

img_3158

I have been using Organix’s Argan Oil of Morocco in my hair for years. I put this in my damp hair after washing it. It helps smooth my hair, gives it a little shine and my hair just feels healthier and more moisturized when I put this in. When I randomly forget to put it in I feel a noticeable difference in my hair.

img_3161

I just recently tried Benefit’s Roller Lash. Ok. So I love the product. The brush is really good at fanning your lashes, making them longer and thicker and looking really pretty. Its a nice product. The only thing I do not like is that it is nearly impossible to remove at the end of the day. When it comes to mascara thats a huge turnoff and will make me want to chuck a product. So I love this but also don’t.

img_3159

Lastly I want to talk about these collagen eye pads from Purederm. I wear a mask every day and really love to also wear eye masks. I found these on Amazon and decided to try them on a whim because I’m always looking for masks to give a shot. I really love these. They stay on well and I have seen a difference in my under eye skin!

November Beauty Talk

I don’t think I tried any new beauty products in the month of November. It was mostly just rediscovering products I already owned and gave another shot. I’m hoping December brings a lot more make up/skin care/hair product/jewelry/fashion favorites.

LANOLIN: Well, not to get too descriptive, but I’ve been experiencing some major boob pain. You’d think after nursing a whole year I wouldn’t be having fun stuff like this pop up suddenly but that just goes to show you can never be too certain about anything. This Lanolin has been a lifesaver and it goes with me everywhere.

img_2233

LIPSENSE – GINGERBREAD: This color is so pretty! Its a light brown with lots of shimmer. Its been so fun to pair with my fall outfits.

img_2234

EARRINGS: You cannot go wrong with Mickey Mouse earrings. These cute, textured earrings are my latest staple. I wear them pretty much every day. They are simple and add a little Disney magic to my day.

img_2235

SOAP & GLORY – HEEL GENIUS: I’ve already sung Soap & Glory praises on my blog so its no surprise that I’m here loving it again. This is their Heel Genius foot cream and its wonderful. The smell is actually not my favorite, but it works so well. I usually will lather my feet in this before bed, put on a pair of socks and go to sleep (and pray that i can stay asleep with socks on) and the next morning my feet almost feel like H’s bottom.

img_2240

LUSH – THE KISS LIP SCRUB: With the weather getting colder my lips can use all the exfoliating they can get. I love this sugar scrub. It smells great, tastes great (yes you can eat it/lick it off) and is really cute! It basically looks like pink sparkles with little hearts thrown in.

img_2237

BLENDING BRUSHES: The pink blush is from Luxie and the black brush is from Bean Gachis Paris. I don’t remember where or when I got these but I’ve just recently started using them again and they’re my two most used shadow brushes. They blend so well, are gentle on your eyelids and clean really well.

img_2241

L’OREAL – KERASTASE SERUM: I used to use this all the time and I don’t know why I ever stopped. You apply this to damp or dry hair and work it into your hair and it leaves your hair so soft, healthy and shiny. I swear it helps with the thickness too (but don’t quote me on that). There is something so luxurious about this product and I highly recommend giving it a try.

img_2239

L’OREAL – MAGIC LUMI LIGHT INFUSING PRIMER: This one isn’t a favorite but its not so bad that its on an unfavorite list either. I like this, but I’m coming to accept that maybe I just don’t like the dewey look on my face all the time – which this primer definitely gives. So when I use it I make sure to set my face with a powder so its not so luminous looking. I also like mixing this with another primer which seems to tone down the shine. By itself though, I’m not the hugest fan.

October Beauty Talk

R+Co – Death Valley Dry Shampoo: I was randomly given this product and I never turn down dry shampoo because there is never a bad time to use this stuff. I’ve been given the advice to use dry shampoo in bangs to help them keep their place so this is what I’ve been using in them for the last two weeks and I really like this stuff! The main reason I like it so much is that it dries with no color. I hate when you think you’ve rubbed in all your dry shampoo only to find at the end of the day you look like your roots are grey – but thats not even an issue with this stuff. The scent is barely there and thats something I really enjoy too. There is also something about the packaging that just makes me excited to use it.

img_2014

Kokie – Nail Polish in Heavenly: Do you like my awesome chipped manicure? I’m classy, what can I say? Its not a Fall color at all, but its a color I’m drawn to and I love it. Also the elephant on the bottle and the lid is really great.

img_2015

NYX – Photo-Loving Primer: I love when you find cheap products that work like expensive ones. Also, have I already talked about this because I swear I have. I love this stuff. It has a heavy silicone feel which I love in a primer, but I know that isn’t everyones favorite. But my make up sticks to this like glue and my face stays on all day when I wear this. Way to go NYX for making something that works awesome.

img_2016

(Malin+Goetz) – Grapefruit Face Cleanser: This cleanser is bomb. My face feels so clean and radiant after I use this and the way it feels on your skin is a dream. It smells good, it makes your face look and feel good and there is literally nothing wrong with this stuff.

Pure Brazilian Miracle – Leave-in Conditioner: I have no idea where this came from, it just showed up in my life and its a miracle. You spray several pumps of this into your damp hair and brush it in and it makes your hair feel so soft and silky and like you’ve put the time and energy into it that you probably should but don’t. The word ‘miracle’ is in the name of this for a reason. And the smell is divine.

Laura Geller -Highlight in Peach Glow: I feel like Gilded Honey highlight form Laura Geller gets a lot of love. I talked my mom into buying that and every time she wears it I love it. I decided to get Peach Glow because it seemed to match my skin better. I’ve been using this a while now and I really like it. Its a subtle glow for sure, but sometimes subtle is nice. My only complaint is that this transfers incredibly easily which means that H and Wild Man usually wear a little highlight during the day when I wear this as well. Oops!

Burt’s Bees – Coconut & Pear Moisturizing Lip Balm: Burt’s Bees chapstick is my favorite chapstick and the scent of this one is what makes it my very favorite. I don’t feel like there is anything else to elaborate on here except that it feels great, smells great and makes me happy.
