Lake Powell

In Utah, the 24th of July is a holiday and a big deal. This year we celebrated by going with Wild Man’s family to beautiful Lake Powell. We stayed in a house boat in a perfect location and spent the whole week boating, swimming, relaxing and sweating a whole bunch (Lake Powell’s heat is no joke). It was a perfect week and such a fun getaway. There is something so cleansing about being away from your phone for a whole week and leaving all your cares and worries back at home. However I’ve got to say, there is no greater feeling than coming home from a vacation, taking a shower/bath in your own tub thats not lake water and then sleeping in your own big, comfy bed. Unfortunately throughout the week most of our crew (32 people!) got a nasty flu bug that wiped us out for 24-ish hours (but yay H managed to escape it!) but other than that, it couldn’t have been a better week. I loved spending time with family and relaxing in such a wonderful, beautiful place. I highly recommend Lake Powell.

MOAB

IMG_7807

For Memorial Day Weekend we took a quick (like barely over 24 hours) trip to Moab with some of Wild Man’s family. It was really fun, really warm and I’m still really sleepy from it because H doesn’t care to sleep very well if he isn’t in his own home. Wild Man is a huge outdoorsman and since knowing him I have gone on so many more adventure-y vacations than I was used to (AKA not Disneyland or Disney World) and I’m grateful that I’ve been able to see these new parts of the World, specifically, Utah. If you are ever in the Southern Utah area I highly recommend giving Moab a visit – you won’t regret it.

The Happiest Place on Earth

IMG_7293

Last week our family of three went with my family to our home-away-from-home, our favorite place to visit, the place we love most and travel to most often, the best place in the whole entire world – Disneyland. As usual, it was magical, wonderful and has provided us with many more memories and pictures to marvel over. It sounds silly, but I really am so thankful to be a Disney Person. My mom is a huge fanatic and she’s passed the passion onto her children and husband and I plan on doing the exact same thing with my family. Wild Man has already fully embraced the Disney lifestyle and I can honestly say that H is loving Disney, too.

Truth be told, even now, a week+ after our magical getaway I am still on cloud nine. I get the Disneyland blues typically after coming home from a Disney trip because I miss it already, but I also feel full of butterflies because I get to think back on our time there (and eagerly, anxiously look forward to our next time there). And yes, I know how corny that all sounded but I meant every word of it.

I have decided I need more Disney on my blog posts. I’m going to be implementing weekly Disney posts, so keep an eye out for those. In the meantime, enjoy a few random shots from our vacation to the happiest place on earth.
