54321: Family Edition

Maybe its the Easter season, but lately all that is on my mind is FAMILY. Its overwhelmingly awesome that because of Jesus Christ I get to be with my family, my handsome husband, sweet baby and all our future children forever. Forever is a big and powerful word. But its a real thing that can happen because our Savior died for us. Its all really incredible and I’ve never been able to put into words how excited, humbled and grateful it makes me feel. I love my family – which is why todays 54321 is a family edition.

5 things I’m loving: 1. Our new house – our first house we own. This place is incredible and ours. It is perfect for us. 2. Wild Man’s work ethic. He is a busy, busy man but manages it effortlessly and never, ever complains. 3. Our new kitchen has so much room to cook and it makes it easier to try new recipes. Wild Man has been fun to test these new foods on and thankfully, he hasn’t hated any! (or so he says…) 4. At least once during the day all three of us lay on the floor in the living room and play with toys, make each other laugh, etc and its probably the time of day I look forward to the most. 5. We are so lucky to have the Gospel in our lives. Like really, really.

4 things on my mind: 1. I want to be better at enforcing Family Home Evening. I want to make sure our son knows the importance of FHE and devoting Monday night to the occasion. 2. We need to get back to having a bedtime. It sounds silly but stuff just works better when we go to bed earlier. I feel like I’m an old lady saying that, but its true. 3. I’d love if they made daddy & baby swimsuits. Pool season is approaching and there would be nothing cuter than Wild Man and Captain matching. 4. Maybe I need to get one of those children Book of Mormon readers for baby?

3 goals: 1. Finish The Captain’s room. 2. Finally start decorating. 3. Make a family motto.

2 baby things: 1. The Little Captain is at such a fun age (I’m pretty sure every age he’ll reach will be a fun age) and I’m loving the cuteness. 2. He’s starting to make sure he always has an eye on me or Wild Man and I find it very endearing.

1 magical moment: We live close enough to both of our parents now that we can walk to their houses. Our little family of three has such a fun time on the walks to their houses on Sunday. We have fun conversations and enjoy the weather thats (kinda-sorta) warming up. It makes me grateful for our new location, our relationships and our abilities.

54321: Lazy Monday Edition

5 things I’m loving: 1. My Disneyland hoodie – comfy, warm but lightweight, full of Disney magic. 2. Carpet – in our old house we primarily had tile and having all this carpet, especially in our living room, is heaven. 3. Aussie Bites – they’re delicious, healthy and filling (from Costco) and I am all heart-eyes for them. 4. Lysol/Clorox Wipes – I have full faith that the people who lived in this house before us were very clean, but I’m still a germaphobic human and I just feel good and accomplished by sanitizing all the things. 5. YouTube make up tutorials!

4 things on my mind: 1. I really hope I’m not called into primary in this new ward – the thought of primary with a baby terrifies me. 2. I miss Disneyland and it truly shocks me we haven’t taken the baby there yet. 3. I wonder how hard it would be to start an online business/store. 4: I love having our mailbox right outside our front door.

3 goals: 1. Get all of our clothes put away, finally. 2. Decide if I’m going to cut my hair or not. 3. Visit my cute elderly neighbor across the street who I’m pretty sure is going to be one of my BFF’s.

2 baby things: 1. The Little Captain is SO close to rolling over and I can’t tell if its more exciting for me or him. 2. I know there are lots of opinions about co-sleeping, but I love it.

1 magical moment: On Sunday (the 6th) we attended our new ward for the first time. We only went to Sacrament Meeting because we had some family stuff to attend after, but I really love our new ward. Its exciting and feels good. There are so many kids in the ward so I really feel like we are going to fit in and if my little guy gets noisy, he will blend right in and I won’t have to feel awkward about it. Also I really love our bishopric and feel as if they genuinely love us and care about us, already.
