Friday Favorites: Amazon Pajamas

These. Pajamas.

A few months I was looking on Amazon for comfy clothes to wear postpartum and I happened upon these and proceeded to buy…six pair.

The patterns and the designs are adorable and they seemed super comfy and the reviews backed that suspicion up. I was so happy when they made it to my house to find that they are so comfy and even cuter than they looked online.

Will I ever wear different pajamas again? I don’t know why I’d ever need to!

Be the Good

First of all, how great is this t-shirt from Poppy & Dot? I’m in love with the phrase on it. I know my influence on the world, and sometimes even my own little corner of it, is very small – but regardless, I do try really, really hard to be a force for good. To be the good. To be kind. To spread happiness. To be a friend. The world is really chaotic and messy right now, but its comforting for me to remember that there are still good people and good things. I’d just like to remind you — and me — that all you have to do is look for the good and you can still find it. Also, you can be it. Don’t let the darkness of the world dim your unique light. Be the good!!

Some Body Love

This post and these pictures are a little out of my comfort zone, but I’m posting them even though it makes me a little…eek. Why? I have two reasons for you.

1) Keliana Shop sells amazing active wear. It’s functional, comfortable and cute! I was sent this adorable set and loved the looks but I was nervous about the color – I thought for sure I’d lean over and they’d become transparent. But they didn’t! Covered, modest and still comfy. Love it. I love the ruffle detail on the bra, and the amazing support it has with its removable cups (I always opt for a little extra support!) and the bottoms are high waisted which this woman with a mom-bod absolutely appreciates!

2) I’m embracing my body! I can get so picky and hard on myself when it comes to things I’d like to change about my body. It actually makes me nervous to think that I may never fully be happy with what I look like, but if I really think about it, my body is awesome! This body has kept me healthy, active and given me very few problems for almost 29 years now. It has grown and birthed two babies that were born very differently from another, and it managed to recover from delivery as well – even from one that was a bit traumatic. Then my body fed both of those babies for well over a year. My body is amazing and capable of so much and deserves so much more respect than I give it! EVERY body is amazing, no matter its shape, size, what it’s accomplished and what other people think about it!

I hope this week you can love yourself and give your incredible body the respect it deserves!!

I Found Your Perfect Shirts – You’re Welcome

What kind of friend would I be if I didn’t tell you about the two magical shirts that you NEED in your life? You know that in no way, shape or form I consider myself any kind of ‘fashion blogger’ or a person that knows anything about fashion, but guys. These shirts are fabulous, comfy, cute and can be dressed up or down. Its perfection. Did I get these two shirts, try them on and then almost immediately go order several more of both of them in more colors? …yes. I did.

The other day I realized that I don’t really have any ‘casual’ long sleeved shirts. So I went to Old Navy (duh) and found a few to try. Funny story, when I ordered these two, I was actually fairly certain I’d end up returning them because I didn’t love the look of them. But I WILL NOT BE RETURNING THEM. They are magic, people. They are soft and comfy cozy. They hold their shape. They come in pretty colors. They are loose and flattering. They are simple enough that they can be dressed down and dressed up (i already said that, but thats how important that fact is to me) and they are what dreams are made of.

Please enjoy these slightly grainy pictures I took of myself by videoing myself (awkward) and taking screenshots from the video of these shirts. Then go buy some, but act fast because they’re going pretty quickly it looks like.

This shirt is balloon sleeved, so I feel like this is going to be my fancy-comfy shirt. I like that the sleeves gather at the wrist. Is that how all balloon sleeved shirts are? I don’t know. But its a feature I like. And OH THE COMFORT. You can find this shirt here.

This next shirt is really just a standard long sleeve t-shirt. Its the greatest. The sleeves are slightly more fitted and they hold their shape even when you’re pushing them up and down your arm all day. You can find this shirt here.

Look Who Got Dressed!

Ever feel like you wear the same thing every single day and thats leggings and your husbands t-shirt? Just me? Cool.

Living this lifestyle makes me feel extra fancy on the days I actually do get ready. I’m not even saying this is a fancy, fashionista outfit. I’m just saying, look at me! Clothes! Real pants! A nice, clean (well for a few hours anyway) shirt!

My whole outfit is from Old Navy, purchased last year

Peplum of My Dreams

You guys know I am not a fashion blogger by any means. When I am posting about clothing, its because I really like it. A few months ago I found myself in a rut. I wore the same outfit every day and it was leggings and a t-shirt. My body is still soft and I’m still working on feeling confident in this after baby body and am most comfortable in flowy, loose clothing. But so often my clothing that fit that description was just another t-shirt. I realized it was actually taking a punch at my happiness and the way I felt about myself! So I decided it was time to buy some clothes that were still comfy and easy to wear while chasing my toddler and hangin’ with my baby. Around this same time I was contacted by the cutest online shop called Cleo Madison.

The adorable peplum blouse they sent me – called the Cassidy Peplum Top – is the shirt I have been dreaming of. It is a beautiful color, a great style (lose, flowy, but still pretty) and the fabric is soft and stretchy and lightweight – perfect for the upcoming warmer months. I also learned it washes well – the first time I wore this and planned to take pictures in it, E had a blowout that got all over both of us (TMI?)

A big thank you to Cleo Madison. If you need one of these beauties for yourself – which I’m pretty sure you do – you can find it here.

What have you guys been wearing lately that you love? Anything especially great for hiding a soft post-baby body while you’re working on getting it a little less squishy? 😉

Realistic Fashion Blogger: The Outfit I Wear 2+ Times a Week

img_4562

That title is not a lie. This is my go-to outfit. I also have the exact same top in turquoise which I’ll add to the mix but its still pretty much the exact same outfit. I am coming at you as a hard core realistic ‘fashion blogger’ today with all of this. My camera is blurry because H got sticky fingerprints on my lens I can’t seem to remove a giant smudge he left behind. Also, I hope you notice in the third picture that I have like 40 chins because this is real life people. Oh and do you see that weird ring of hair on top of my head that I didn’t notice all day? Real life.

So anyway. This is truly the outfit I turn to when I don’t want to put any thought into what I’m wearing. I feel like its pretty cute, its flattering (AKA not form fitting on my tummy) and its so so comfortable. The top is a baggy sweater I picked up at Costco a while ago, of all places! And I think it (along with the turquoise one) has changed my life. I believe there are two more colors and I’m 100% sure I also need those in my life asap. My leggings are good ol’ black Gap leggings I’ve had for years and they are the best quality, most amazing things – and absolutely my most warn item in my entire wardrobe. Can you be for real in love with leggings? If so, these ones are my soul mate.

Realistic Fashion Blogger: My Fancy Sweater

The other day on my Twitter account I asked if you’d rather be known for how cute you dress or how cute your house was. My vote was that I’d rather have the cute house, so I think because that was how I voted, I was surprised that the other option won. I guess it makes sense though. People see how you dress far more than they see your house. So I get it, but it still doesn’t make me change my vote. However this doesn’t mean that I don’t like to dress cute. I like to, but its certainly not a daily thing. Most times you’ll find me in a Disney t-shirt, some black leggings and wool socks. And honestly I’m ok with that. I know I can dress cute, its just not always the top of my priority list. Its a pain! Some days I’m lucky if I wear a different shirt than I wore yesterday. Maybe its because I’m a mom to a messy one year old, but thats just my attitude towards clothing right now. Then I get onto social media and see all these other mommy bloggers who obviously have their lives put together much better than I do. They have a few kids and they still manage to dress like a fancy, sophisticated house wife with the perfect, expensive outfit, shiny accessories and a designer handbag that cost more than my entire weeks outfits from Target and Old Navy. I don’t understand how they do it! Then how do they find the time  (and money) to have these daily photo shoots then blog about each outfit and find each article of clothing or something similar online to link under the image?  Maybe I’m super lazy and not as motivated as these women, but it just seems really hard to me. I also know that these bloggers would likely inform me they only share the good stuff. They probably only share the days they’re super put together and washed their hair and put on a full, glam face of make up. I get that. But how do they have those days so often? Its a little mind boggling to my simple brain.

So this sparked an idea. I am going to take on my own kind of fashion blogging. I am going to be a realistic fashion blogger. Realistic for those of us ladies with kids who get us dirty and houses that don’t always look like they came from your latest home decor magazine. Those moms who aren’t sponsored by these luxury companies or who aren’t sent PR packages every day. I’ll be the fashion blogger who has a budget and who sometimes goes months without buying a new article of clothing for myself. I’ll be the fashion blogger who wears realistic mom outfits (stains included) and will repeat articles of clothing throughout the week because I’m not always on top of laundry. Thats what I want to see more of on Social Media so maybe someone else will enjoy seeing my version of this.

Without further ado…Todays outfit.

Hey, you caught me on a good day. Lucky us. I got ready! I’m wearing real pants! I did my make up AND hair! I also just propped my iPhone up on a some bananas and video-d myself posing then took screenshots of the pose because thats how us classy moms do! And please be sure to notice my not-so-ideal lighting!

Its freezing cold outside and the snow will not stop falling. All I have on my agenda today is Costco and a few lash clients then lots of playing with my little guy. And at some point I guess I’ll make dinner..

Now lets talk outfit details, shall we? My sweater is from JCrew which was gifted to me a few years ago and I wear it all the time. This is my go-to fancy sweater. Its comfy, its loose and its cute. My pants are some good ol’ Old Navy mid-rise Super Skinny jeans and I love them. As far as real pants/jeans go, these are my favorite. What you don’t see are my cozy mismatched wool socks which are a staple in my daily wardrobe.

Stay tuned for the next Realistic Fashion Blogger which I’m sure will feature leggings and a baggy top and messy hair!

Magical Monday: 7 Days of Disney

At least half of my wardrobe is Disney apparel. And you may think I am joking, but I am not. There isn’t anything better than wearing something Disney. The other day when I was putting away laundry I was laughing at how many Disney shirts I have, then I started thinking of all the other Disney apparel I own and came up with this brilliant idea. 7 Days of Disney. For seven days I will be documenting the Disney I wear every day. I actually try to incorporate Disney into my wardrobe every day. Sometimes its statement pieces that are blatantly Disney and sometimes its more subtle. Sadly some days just don’t get any Disney but believe me when I say I’d be happiest if I always was donning something Disney. So for this whole week I will be sharing pictures of how I incorporate Disney into my every day dressing. I also recruited some other family members to do this with me! Hope you enjoy!

MONDAY

Alice in Wonderland is one of my all time favorite movies so any time I see a shirt with an Alice quote I’ve got to have it! This shirt says “Do you suppose she’s a wildflower?” and its everything to me. I also have small white Mickey Mouse earrings today.

H went with a very relaxed Disney look today. A Monsters Inc shirt (from Disney Store) and a Mickey Mouse zip-up hoodie from Disneyland (not pictured) and his beloved Mickey Mouse slippers that he has on 98% of his life.

My cute little sister decided to take part as well. Today she wore a shirt that sums her up perfectly. It says “I just want to bake stuff and watch Disney movies.” Isn’t it the best??
img_3734

TUESDAY

Today was a sick day so it was comfy clothes, no make up and messy hair. Poor H has had a terrible cough and a fever and I think I’m starting to get it now too. But that didn’t stop the Disney magic!

I wore a Little Mermaid shirt from Target and some Disneyland sweatpants with Mickey Mouse on the hip. Fun fact, these pants are a childrens XL so they are short, but for some reason I just can’t get rid of them!

H wore pants that matched mine, but they’re much cuter on him! He also wore a winter R2D2 shirt from Target and some Mickey Mouse socks (from Disneyland I think?)

IMG_3777.jpg

My sister nailed her look this day. Her shirt is the best and I need one. It is from Disney World and its retro and amazing! She also had some Belle socks on.

My mom didn’t want a picture taken but she had an awesome Disney shirt on so I’m sticking that on here too. How great is it??

WEDNESDAY

Another sick day. How come any time I try to be cute and fashionable for a week someone in my family ends up getting sick so I pretty much wear comfy clothes the whole week? Is the universe trying to tell me something?

Since we were home all day I decided to wear a comfy t-shirt and in attempt to feel a little more human since I started feeling really sick too, I wore jeans – the comfiest pair I own. I love this t-shirt so much. I found it on Instagram and HAD to have it! It says Magic Kingdom Mountain-Ears Co. and names Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain. So clever. So perfect. Also please notice my cute Mickey face socks. I also wore small black Mickey earrings. (at the end of this post I’ll show all the earrings I wore throughout the week)

IMG_3818.jpg

My sweet, sick baby just wore a comfy Mickey Mouse onesie from H&M. He looked comfy, cozy and oh so cute.

img_3795

My sister went simple today with a Mickey ring from Pandora – one of the greatest rings I’ve ever seen.

img_3821

THURSDAY

I planned on todays ‘outfit’ being Disney pajamas – and that is what happened. Except I didn’t really get good outfit pictures. We are still sick sick sick and before I got a good picture of H he had a blowout (thanks stomach aches) and my pajama shirt got a whole bunch of snot on it from H (thanks awful cold) so we were a mess and didn’t really et a picture, so this is what I have to work with.

My pajamas are a set from Disney Store a few years ago and they’re my favorite pajamas I own. I think they’re mens but they’re great because they are so big and comfy. I was able to wear these most of my pregnancy too so I feel like that speaks very strongly for how cozy they are. H also is wearing Disney Store jammies that make him look like Woody from Toy Story. Nothing better.

My sister wore one of my all time favorite Disney shirts. We (i have one too) got it on a recent trip to Disneyland at Tower of Terror before it closed. Its an Annual Pass exclusive shirt and its magical. I love it and she looks great in it!

img_3846

FRIDAY

I didn’t go as blatantly Disney today. I actually wore no Disney clothes, but I did wear my Disney castle earrings and a few Disney bracelets. I wore a Pandora bracelet with only Disney charms, a couple Alex and Ani Disney bracelets and a Cinderella bracelet that looks like an Alex and Ani. Its a simple, less obvious way to add Disney into your daily outfits.

IMG_3868.jpg

img_3861

I decided to have H’s outfit not so blatantly Disney, as well. His shirt says “Never Grow Up” and is from Gap, from a Peter Pan line they had. And of course, he had Mickey Mouse socks on and wore his Mickey slippers most the day. He also decided to wear a cute Mickey Mouse baseball hat around the house for a good portion of the day.

My sister wore a shirt I wore earlier in the week! Great minds think alike:) Its the ‘Do You Suppose She’s a Wildflower’ raglan. And she’s adorable.

IMG_3860.jpg

SATURDAY

I felt so miserable all day Saturday. So please don’t be too harsh about my appearance. Yikes. I wore a Haunted Mansion t-shirt and I literally laid on the couch ALL day. Thank goodness for a sweet husband who was awesome about taking over all the house and parenting duties. Also, H somehow didn’t get a picture. He just had some Disney socks on though so I guess you aren’t missing too much.

IMG_3891.jpg

My sister looked so good. Lets just think about her outfit and not mine, k? She wore a Tiki Room shirt and she wore Epcot Nike’s! I am so jealous of them. She looks awesome.

img_3876

SUNDAY

My sister wore a favorite Disneyland shirt form D23. Wild Man also has this shirt and its one that every time they wear it I am so glad people in my family own it. Its a really cool shirt!

IMG_3905.jpg

I got Wild Man in on the Disney action today! He actually is really awesome about always wearing Disney on Sunday. Today he wore a Disneyland Raglan, H wore some awesome Mickey Mouse hammer pants (heck yes!) and I had my classic Mickey Mouse Disneyland sweatshirt that I wear like six days out of the week because I love it so much. Also, H wasn’t really feeling pictures and we both felt gross (still) and my hair is weird. But hey, its a picture of our Disney! (except that Wild Man’s is totally hiding)..

Some of the earrings I wore throughout the week.

Casual Christmas Party

Last night we had Wild Man’s work had a fun Christmas Party. There was yummy food, dessert, hot chocolate and a candy bar where you could take as much candy as you wanted (i’m set for a while on sugar now)! It was a fun evening out, but we always have a hard time leaving our sweet H – thats normal, right?

Since we don’t have a ton of reasons to get all festive this year (well, besides when I just feel like getting cute and festive) I wanted to document our outfits. I’ll be honest, when I heard the dress code was casual I was kind of bummed because I was looking forward to an excuse to get really done up. But maybe that opportunity will present itself later.

img_2841

How awesome is Wild Man’s Ugly Christmas Sweater? He got it last year through the Disney Store and I believe it was an exclusive item. Its one of our favorite Christmas pieces we have. Since I couldn’t get all fancy I decided to finally break out my new Old Navy puffy vest. Its black and white plaid and so warm. I paired it with a plain red long sleeve thermal shirt and some black leggings and black wedges.

I’m so excited to see everyones Christmas-y outfits this season! Hopefully I can share a few more before January comes around.
